We hope you all are having a wonderful and restful summer. As we are quickly approaching the beginning of another school year, we look forward to what God has in store for us! Below are several important reminders for the upcoming school year!

We've changed some things! (Lunch, Schedules, PE Uniform Ordering/Delivery, etc.) So be sure to read through each section.


Orientation Week

    Technology Liability Agreement--for all 6th-12th Students

    Every Providence Academy student in 6th through 12th grade and their parent/guardian are required to sign this Technology Liability Agreement as an indication they have read, understand and agree to be bound by the terms of the agreement before the student is allowed access to any Providence Academy Technology; therefore, to allow your student’s full participation in classroom activities, please complete and submit this form before the 1st day of school.


    High School Retreat

    This event is one of the BEST of the year! You won't want your kid to miss it. Check out this video from last year. And each year, the retreat just keeps getting better!   

  • Important Technology Information

    Canvas--Returning families will access your Canvas account using the same login information as last year. New families will have Canvas login information emailed to them by the second week of August. 

    MS Technology Information-6th-8th Grade Please have your student complete this brief form to help ensure they're ready to start the first day of school.

  • Homeroom Teacher/Schedule Information

    Teacher assignments are released at the beginning of August. You will get an email at that time. Middle School students who still need to select electives will be contacted by Mrs. Chambers. High School students who still need to select electives will be contacted initially via email by our College and Career Counselor, Larissa Ferguson. She is working hard now to put together the schedules that your students need. Remember, classes may not be assigned for NEW 9th–12th grade students until we have received a copy of your transcript. 


  • After School Care

    After School  Care begins on Monday, August 12. Regular hours are 3:15–5:30 pm each day school is in full-day session. Information and enrollment in the program is here

  • Lunch Information

    Families are able to order lunch up to two weeks in advance. You will need to place orders by 8:30am on the Wednesday the week BEFORE being served. The portal will remain open all week except from 8:30–10:30am on Wednesdays while we process orders and update the system. 


    If you need to cancel, you'll need to click on this link by 8:30AM the morning that you need to cancel. This link can be found on the Current Families page of the website.

    Remember, every Friday is a Spirit Wear day, and students may wear blue jeans and PA t-shirts. The spirit store is open during office hours in the summer and will be open during Orientation. You can also check-out the BSN Online Store

  • MS/HS PE Uniforms

    6th-8th Grade PE Uniforms

    Any upcoming 6th–8th grade student is required to dress out for PE each class meeting. Uniforms can be purchased here. These are the same uniforms we’ve used for years past, so if your child still has theirs, they are able to wear it again. You may also buy individual pieces of the uniform or multiples if you’d like. 


    9th-12th Grade PE/Weightlifting Uniforms

    Any upcoming 9th-12th grade student taking PE, Health/Wellness, or weightlifting is required to dress out for each class meeting. Uniforms can be purchased here. These are new and updated dri-fit uniforms for the high school program and can be used again for each year they take a PE or weightlifting class. You may also buy individual pieces of the uniform or multiples if you’d like. 

    *Many PA families have the PE uniforms (gray tshirt and burgundy shorts) from previous years, and we are allowing you to use that uniform as well if you would not like to purchase a new high school one.*


  • Enrollment Documents

    Rising 7th Graders

     Rising 7th Graders need to show proof of updated vaccinations on the Tennessee Form. Please drop these off at the office between now and the first day of school.

    New Families

    Unless you submitted them with your enrollment packet, you'll need to turn in the following via email or to the front office BEFORE the first day of school:

    • Birth Certificate
    • Immunizations on the Tennessee Form
    • Proof of Physical within one year of the first day of school (For information about sports physicals, check-out the Athletics tab. (Here are the required forms for MS and HS athletes.)
    • 9-12th Grade Students should submit an unofficial copy of your transcript. Classes cannot be assigned until that is received.
  • P2-Parents Group / Parent Volunteering

    P2 is our group for parents. This is a great way for moms and dads get plugged in at the school! Sign-up to volunteer and get involved here.


    Background Check Information

    As a part of our continuing efforts to ensure a safe school environment for our students, Providence Academy is requiring a background screening for all persons who work closely with students as school volunteers. These will be completed every three years, so if you did one last year. You won't need to submit the for again. The following examples provide some guidance for school volunteer opportunities which will require a background screening:


    For elementary parents/grandparents:

    Parents volunteering in the classroom for reading groups

    Parent drivers for field trips

    Parents serving as room moms/dads

    Chaperones for field trips

    Library volunteers


    For MS/HS parents/grandparents:

    Driving for Fine Arts Performances off campus

    Field Trips/Discover


    Athletics:

    Driving athletes (other than your own) to off campus sporting events



    Backgrounds screens will NOT be able to be processed same day, therefore if you have plans to volunteer in any capacity in the upcoming 24-25 school year please fill the  form out as soon as possible so there are no delays for attending events throughout the year.

  • Strings/Percussion

    Orchestra/String Program informational night

    Tuesday, July 23th at 5:30pm!

    Families are welcome to come meet string instructors, try out instruments, and sign up for the program for the upcoming school year.

    Instruction is available for all four bowed instruments of the orchestra. Students have the option to choose from violin, viola, cello or bass. Instruction is now available during the school day depending on instructor availability. Private lessons are available for students in grades PreK–2nd, while private, small group, and orchestrainstruction is available for students in grades 3rd-8th. Students in grades 6th-12th may take orchestra as a fine arts elective. Students may join the program if they are a beginner or have previous experience.

     

    Unsure about what instrument your child might be interested in? Check out the videos below for more information on each instrument. Even though the violin is quite popular and beautiful, the other instruments offer their own unique benefits.


    Students can begin the Percussion program in 7th Grade. For more info, contact Paul Davidhizar.

  • Athletics

    Check out the Summer letter from Coach Pitts for 6th–12th grade athletes here

    Please read over the letter and PA Athletic Handbook if you intend to participate in Athletics at PA. Please be sure to read and sign all of the forms contained. For the 2024-2025 school year we will be using FinalForms to sign and upload all athletic forms (sports physical, consent form, sudden cardiac arrest form, concussion form, and the athletic handbook form).     Elementary Athletics

    Sign-ups are open for Flag Football  and Elemntary Soccer. Check out the deadlines and registration links below. 

    Flag Football League – Begins in July (Open to Providence students and the community.) 

    Fall Soccer League – Begins in August (Open to Providence students and the community.) 


    Future leagues:

    Providence Basketball leagues – Providence Academy provides 2 basketball leagues for students in grades K–6 grades. We have a fall league and a winter league.  


    Fall Basketball league –Practices for the fall league begin October 30. There will be 6 weeks of games. Games are on Saturdays beginning November 2.  Sign-ups begin September 3 and end September 27. More information will be released in the fall. 


    Winter Basketball league – Practices for the winter league begin on January 8. There will be 6 weeks of games. Games are on Saturdays beginning January 14. Sign-ups for the second basketball session begin November 8 and end December 11.

  • School Communications

    We have a variety of methods of communication! 

    1. PA Notes - A weekly school newsletter with announcements, upcoming events, and important information

    2. Elementary Thursday Folder - Students will take home a folder with weekly work, classroom information, and school-wide information

    3. Canvas (More info under Technology Tab)

    4. P2 has a private Facebook group that parents use to connect throughout the year.

  • Who do I talk to about my child's allergies, asthma, or other medical needs?

    Before school begins, our school nurse will review all of the medical information that you provided in your child's enrollment packet. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact Mrs. Turner.


    The following forms are required BEFORE school begins:

    If your child has a severe allergy requiring an epinephrine auto injector this form is required. 

    If your child has asthma and requires an inhaler while at school this form is required. If your child requires a medication to be on file in the care center, please complete this form.


    All forms should be returned to Mrs. Turner.

  • Parent/Student Handbook

    Upon enrollment, parents agree to be responsible for reading and understanding the content of the Student Parent Handbook over the summer and any updates sent out throughout the year, and to be accountable for following the policies and procedures outlined within, and any revisions made to them.  Additionally, parents affirm agreement with the Statement of Faith and Secondary Doctrinal Statement outlined within. 

     You may review the handbook including the Statement of Faith and Secondary Doctrinal statements here. Updates made throughout the year will be noted in PA Notes. 


  • Summer Reading Lists
  • Important Kindergarten Information!

    A few reminders about Kindergarten. 

    • Kindergarten will be offered full days all week. 
    • Help your students feel Kindergarten ready by practicing reading lower/upper case letters and recognizing numbers 1–10.
    • Students should know their first and last names to be ready to be checked out during carline

    You can find a packet here to use as a resource to help your child enter Kindergarten with confidence.

  • Business Directory

    The Business Directory helps to connect our community with local businesses that directly support Providence Academy’s Annual Need-based Scholarship Fund. This directory is distributed to Providence families and friends in the Tri-Cities area in the fall via direct mail and our website will have it available for an entire year.
